BestNotes and your treatment center website

EHR with a secure online intake application you can link from your website. BestNotes mentions API documentation for custom integrations.

  • Read against the vendor's own pages
  • BAA not stated
  • Checked October 15, 2026

What it is

An EHR for behavioral health, therapy and addiction treatment, covering documentation, scheduling, billing and eMAR, with a CRM for calls, follow-ups and referral sources.

How it connects to a website

  • Link-out

BestNotes says you can link its secure online client intake application to your website. Its prescreen application auto-populates into intake and clinical documentation.

  • API on request

BestNotes says it provides comprehensive API documentation for custom integrations. We did not find that documentation published openly.

What KhanWork does with it

  • Link the BestNotes intake application from the right places on your site, such as the admissions page and the main call to action, so the application itself stays on BestNotes.
  • Count clicks to the intake link in analytics, without passing anything about the visitor in the link.
  • Keep any website form short and separate from the clinical prescreen.

Setup, as the vendor documents it

BestNotes does not publish public setup steps for its intake link or API. Both are arranged with BestNotes for your account.

What to watch out for

Where patient details can slip out with BestNotes, and what the vendor's own documents say to switch on, switch off or ask for.

  1. Ask for the BAA by name

The HIPAA statement on BestNotes' site does not mention a BAA. Get one in writing before patient information moves through any connection you add.

  2. The prescreen writes into the clinical record

BestNotes says its prescreen auto-populates intake and clinical documentation. Whatever the prescreen asks becomes part of the chart, so its questions belong to your clinical team, not to the marketing site.

  3. Links should carry campaign tags only

When the website links out to the intake application, the link should carry nothing about the visitor beyond standard campaign tags. No names, emails or answers in the URL.

  4. No call tracking or form partner listed

BestNotes' partner page lists billing, e-prescribing, labs, telehealth and a behavioral health CRM, but no call tracking or form vendor. Do not assume a call tracking tool can write into BestNotes.
