A landing page is the page a visitor arrives on from an ad, a search result, an email or a link, and in paid campaigns it usually means a page built for one audience and one action.

What it means
Any page can be a landing page; in analytics it is simply the first page of a visit. In advertising the term is narrower: a page written for the people who clicked a specific ad, with distractions removed and one action in focus.
For a treatment center, the strongest landing pages match the search. A detox ad lands on detox, an insurance search lands on that plan, a city search lands on that location, and each page answers who it is for, what happens next and how to reach admissions now.
Ad platforms check landing pages too. LegitScript's advertising standard requires ads to be accurate, not misleading and clear about who the advertiser is, so a landing page cannot promise what the program does not deliver.
Why it matters for your website
If you run ads, the landing page usually decides more of the result than the ad does. Build one per major service or level of care, keep the admissions number in view, and test one change at a time.
